The term Exigence was the most confusing word in this class. I was confused when this term was brought up. Exigence is one of the most important rhetorical elements because it means the reason for what you are writing and why you are writing it. At the start of the course, I was confused about this term but various small assignments helped me realize the importance and what it means.
In the memo, my exigence was the terrible behavior of the advisors and how they don’t help the students best of their ability. This happened to me and as I found out I was not the only one, I had to write a memo to someone who can make a change.
During my Technical Description project, my exigence was people not knowing the progress that has been made since the invention of lightbulbs. Figure 1 showcases in-depth about my exigence in the technical description project.
