Audience

The audience is the person you are writing a certain topic in order to serve a purpose. This ehetorical element allowed us to analyze out audience with their background information, their level of study or work, what they would already know about your topic/subject, how they feel about it and for what they could use it. We used audience analysis paper to analayze our audience to find a perfect audience for various topic.

At the start of the semester, my thoughts on the audience were simple. I thought of an audience as a easy task since anybody can be an audience for certain topics. For this class it was a bit difficult since we had to do audience analysis sheet. During the process of doing the audeince analysis sheet I realized how a certain audience would be better for my selectyed topics then others.

For example, for the first major assignment that was done in this class was a memo. In the memo we had to find a campus or college issues to write about and address that issue to my audience. The audience that I picked was Vincent Boudreau. He is The President of City College of New York. He was one of the first pick because our issue fore the memo was about advisement. He would be able to inform all department of various issues so he was perfect for it. But that would have not been as effective as I though it was because he is a very busy person. he would not be able to hear the student. So the best choice was Dr. Tony M. Liss. He is the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost. He was a better choice because he is the main person in charge of advisement. He would be more effective when contacting advisement regarding this issue. In figure 1, it shows the audience analysis on Tony which helped us make him the first audience.
