This is the easiest rhetoric element that I health with this semester. As the name tells a stance is when you support your argument and topic. Your stance should stay the same in a document in order to have a good paper.

For example, during the Technical Description, my goal was to show everyone the importance of lightbulb and how it has changed society. My stance would be to support this goal by talking about lightbulbs. Figure 1 shows how my exigence turned into a stance.
